What it's used for
Metoclopramide oral solution is used as a short-term therapy for adults with symptomatic, documented gastroesophageal reflux who do not respond to conventional therapy. Therapy should not exceed 12 weeks.

Typical dosing
The recommended adult dose is 10 mg to 15 mg taken orally up to four times daily, 30 minutes before each meal and at bedtime. Treatment should not exceed 12 weeks.

Mental depression, ranging from mild to severe and including suicidal thoughts and suicide, has occurred in patients with and without a prior history of depression.
Common side effects
Common adverse reactions include restlessness, drowsiness, fatigue, and lack of energy, which occur in about 10% of patients receiving the standard 10 mg dose four times daily.
