What it's used for

Misoprostol is used to reduce the risk of stomach ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin in patients at high risk of complications or ulcer development.

Typical dosing

The recommended adult oral dose is 200 mcg four times daily with food, though a 100 mcg dose can be used if 200 mcg is not tolerated. It should be taken for the duration of NSAID therapy.
