What it's used for
Naproxen and naproxen sodium tablets are used to relieve signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and acute gout, as well as to manage pain and primary dysmenorrhea.

Typical dosing
The lowest effective dosage should be used for the shortest duration needed, with typical adult doses ranging from 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily for naproxen tablets, or 275 mg to 550 mg twice daily for naproxen sodium tablets.

Boxed warning / key safety info
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, including fatal heart attacks and strokes, and are contraindicated for coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
Common side effects
