What it's used for

Nevirapine extended-release tablets are used in combination with other antiretroviral medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus infection in adults and pediatric patients 6 years and older with a body surface area of 1.17 square meters or greater.

Typical dosing

Adult patients must follow a 14-day lead-in period with one 200 mg immediate-release tablet once daily, followed by one 400 mg extended-release tablet once daily. The extended-release tablets must be swallowed whole.
