What it's used for

Phenytoin chewable tablets are used to treat generalized tonic-clonic and complex partial seizures. They are also used to prevent and treat seizures during or after neurosurgery.

Typical dosing

For adults, the starting dose is usually two chewable tablets three times a day, with a typical maintenance dose of six to eight tablets daily. The pediatric starting dose is 5 mg/kg/day divided into two or three doses.
