What it's used for
This medication temporarily relieves coughs due to minor throat and bronchial irritations and helps loosen phlegm to make coughs more productive.

Typical dosing
Adults and children 12 years and older take 10 mL every 4 hours (not exceeding 6 doses in 24 hours), while children 6 to under 12 years take 5 mL.
